MOST COMMON ILLNESSES
Here are the most common illnesses our children suffer from

PNEUMONIA
Lung infection caused by bacteria or viral, in which the air sacs will fill with pus and may become solid so that the affected child cannot breathe without help. It usually starts with simple upper respiratory tract infection caused by invasive organism or by usual organism that affect immune-compromised children, thus the infection invade the respiratory tract deeper into the lung.

SEPSIS
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition, caused by bacterial or fungal infection into the blood stream that result in multiple organ failure. Untreated sepsis will end up in bleeding, multiple organ failure, to death.
Recently, with an aggressive, comprehensive, and rapid treatment, sepsis can be stabilized; and with the support for all organs dysfunction and infection controlled children with sepsis can be saved.

PREMATURE
A premature baby is an infant born before 37 weeks of pregnant. There are lots of risks for premature baby such as infection, immaturity of organs, anemia, intracranial bleeding, etc.
Premature baby needs lots of support to pass the critical phase and to do a group of screening and also nutritional support in order to grow normally. Premature baby usually needs hospitalized in a long time to get home.

HIV
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that causes Acquired Immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Children with AIDS have very low immune system (immune-compromise) that will cause a variety of bacterial or viral or fungal infection. And, because of the low immune system the infection usually severe.
Nowadays, anti-retroviral medicine has been found. So, children with AIDS can now be cured by taking medication for a lifetime. However, children with AIDS need help to fight the infection it first.
